Just between you and me, I?ve heard that one could obtain copies of Windows 7, including builds newer than the public betas, from some not-so-sanctioned sources. Of course I would know very little about how this works, but I understand that there is a process of verifying the integrity of files to ensure files are as described and have not been tampered with, however not everyone does this.

Leading up to the inevitable leak of the Windows 7 RTM build like a bottle of champagne shaken once too many times, I wanted to make this process of verifying file hashes even simpler by making it easy and convenient to generate and compare the hashes. With the help of Sven Groot, we came up with this little applet for your Windows 7 ISO verifying pleasure.

It couldn?t be any easier to use. Simply drag and drop an .ISO file onto this EXE, or double click on it and navigate to the file, then sit back and relax while it crunches the numbers. Once it generates a hash, it?ll compare it with a list of known and trustworthy hashes of ISOs to tell you exactly which build version and architecture it is known to be. This list will be updated live over the web so you won?t have to redownload the app.

This is very important especially now due to the many variations being released.. some are absolutely fake and have been tampered with. Very dangerous because once it has been tampered with.. you never know what they have injected into the ISO. ( i.e. malware coding, viruses, trojans, etc.. which your Internet Security or Anti-Virus will not detect because it's been written into the Operating System. )

Always use a " Genuine" version and activate yourself.. this way you know 100% the files that have been installed on your computer!

This Windows 7 RTM OEM ISO is a non-brand specific image released to OEMs ( Original Equipment Manufacturers ) and system builders, which in turn distribute and support the Windows 7 OEM disc to end-users.

This OEM version of Windows 7 RTM ISO is not to be confused with brand-specific Windows 7 recovery disc or image that is distributed by major PC vendors, which make use of OEM-specific digitally signed certificates (.xrm-ms) matching the BIOS ACPI_SLIC table and OEM royalty SLP (System-Locked Preinstallation) product key for instant offline SLP self-activation.

Instead, Windows 7 RTM OEM DVD disc ISO requires OEM NON-SLP product keys to activate online or by phone, exactly similar with a retail product key, which is distributed and supported directly by Microsoft , or OEM COA serial numbers pasted on stickers of new PCs. The non OEM SLP key, from product key group ID 182, is similar with retail or upgrade product keys, it can be used only on one computer.

HAVING TROUBLE ACTIVATING ? USE THIS !

Due to providing Tech Support for members of this forum for the past month or so .. we have come to realize that with older Dells & HP computers.. it seems to be a little more complicated to activate..

So we started researching this topic.. did some "trial & error" testings ... and after a few successful installations .. we have found a solution !!!

If you are experiencing difficulty activating your computer .. i suggest you download and try this collection ..

HOW TO USE
-----------------------
- Uninstall previous Activators / Do a clean install
- Launch v1.5.8
- Select "Use Beta Loader"
- Press "Install"
- Restart

BACK UP
1. Back up all Files/Data you want to keep to DVD/CD/External Hard Drive/etc ...

BURN TO DVD
------------------------
1. Scroll down to " Nero" Section below
2. Download " Nero 7 Ultra Edition" i have posted
3. Follow the instructions i have posted on how to burn this to DVD

SET YOUR DVD DRIVE AS THE FIRST BOOT DEVICE

1. Insert the burnt DVD into your DVD Drive
2. Restart your computer
3. As soon as your computer clicks over to begin the Boot Process
4. Continuously press the " ESC" Button
5. That will bring up the BIOS
6. Look around in there for the " Boot Sequence/Order" and make the " DVD Drive" the First Boot Device ( every computer's BIOS is different.. so it's very hard to know exactly where this option will be on your computer.. but look for anything that has the word "Boot", "Boot Device", "Boot Options", or Boot Priority"... )
7. Save and Exit the BIOS
8. If you did it correctly.. your computer will say " Press any button to boot from DVD" ..
9. Press any button
10. That will launch the Windows 7 installation process

INSTALL WINDOWS 7

1. Let the DVD load and as soon as you see " Install". .. select " Install"
2. Next option .. select " Custom Install"
3. Next option.. select " Advanced Option"
4. Now you will see your Hard Drive(s)
5. You have to decide whether you want to create partitions or not. ( Will not affect activation or install )
6. Once the partition(s) have been created or not .. be sure to " Format" each drive/partition by highlighting the Drive/Partition(s) and selecting " Format".
7. Highlight the " C" Drive ( listed first on top of list ) and press " Install"
8. Now Windows 7 will begin the installation.
9. Let it do it's thing.. it may take a while depending on how fast your PC is.
10. You do not have to do anything.. just sit back and watch or go out for a smoke..
11. Your computer will restart a few times.. just leave it alone.
12. The next time it will need input from you is to create your User Profile, Password, Set the Time Zone, etc.. do it and let it continue again.
13. Then the next time it will need your input again is for the Serial.. Leave it BLANK and press continue
14. Finally.. it will continue and your computer will restart a few more times.. your screen will flicker .. it may seem like it's frozen.. but that's normal.. leave it alone.. ( do not restart your PC ).
15. Once you get to the Desktop.. go to Control Panel > User Accounts and Family Safety > User Acconts > Turn off " UAC" by sliding the slider down to the last setting.
16. Save and Restart your computer
17. Now go activate using one of the provided Activators above..
18. Enjoy
